Anti-Slave Labor Policy

Purpose

To establish a zero-tolerance stance on slave labor and make a reasonable effort to ensure all operations and supply chains are free from any form of forced labor.

Scope

This policy applies to all Northwoods employees, contractors, suppliers, and business partners.

Definitions

  • Slave Labor: Any work or service that a person is forced to perform against their will under threat of punishment.
  • Forced Labor: Work that is performed involuntarily and under coercion.

Policy Statements

  • Zero Tolerance: The organization strictly prohibits the use of slave labor in any form.
  • Compliance: All employees, contractors, and suppliers must comply with this policy and relevant laws.
  • Due Diligence: As new vendors are considered a reasonable effort will be made to assess their ability to comply with the zero-tolerance stance. If a violation of this stance is discovered the vendor will be replaced.

Responsibilities

  • Management: Ensure the implementation and enforcement of this policy.
  • Employees: Adhere to the policy and report any suspected violations.
  • Suppliers: Comply with the policy and provide information is required.

Enforcement

  • Consequences: Violations of this policy will result in disciplinary action, including termination of contracts.
  • Remediation: Steps will be taken to address and remediate any instances of slave labor identified.
