CTS is a leading designer and manufacturer of sensors, actuators and electronic components for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) in a variety of markets.

The Situation

The CTS team came to Northwoods looking for a new UX strategy and design that would allow them to better manage and present content on their data-heavy website.

The previous site was confusing to navigate, not mobile responsive, and lacked effective search and filtering options. Product pages were presented as a long list of text with little formatting, making them difficult to read, and they were missing related resources and clear calls to action. The sales team had even become reliant on print materials rather than using their digital assets to highlight product features and specifications.

The Solution

Northwoods developed a data-backed strategy to guide the website redesign with users in mind.

Built on Titan CMS, Northwoods' enterprise content management system, the new site has a simplified navigation and improved UX, and it allows CTS to manage huge amounts of data with ease. Our team overhauled the database architecture for more effective filtering and intuitive product selection tables, and we created a polished and professional site that allows users to quickly scan content and find just the information they need.

The Design

Northwoods’ UX design team improved the user experience by clearly identifying clickable elements with strong visual cues, reducing confusion about which areas of the site were interactive. We integrated calls to action (CTAs) directly into the content, making those CTAs feel natural rather than forced, and helping drive traffic toward key conversion points.

Our team also added a CTA at the bottom of every page to keep users engaged and encourage next steps.  Finally, we established a consistent structure for product pages, improving usability and making it easier for customers to compare and select the right products to suit their needs.
