PIC came to Northwoods seeking a more user-friendly way to present their complex product catalog to a wide and varied B2B audience. Their previous website was limited to product information pages and a separate collection of somewhat cumbersome online calculators that if used sequentially, would direct to the right items. However, PIC’s users needed the ability to quickly and simply find product details and accurately see which cables and associated connectors would work best for a given project.
Northwoods’ UX experts created a new website strategy and refreshed the site map, allowing users to find what they need in fewer clicks. Our team also developed custom data sites in Titan CMS, an enterprise content management system powered by Northwoods and PIC’s chosen platform, which allow site authors and managers to add and edit structured content for the many wires, connectors, and assemblies PIC offers, bringing most of the previously disjointed functionality into one tool.
Now users can easily filter to their desired product configuration. That data is then pushed to a detail table and instantly becomes available in a combined PDF with spec sheets and associated materials. The result is a polished new website that offers a more seamless experience and aligns with PIC’s commitment to make its customers’ jobs easier.
